  • Attended "Women in Technology Leadership - A Peertelligent Webinar.” Valuable lessons and insight from interviews with 40 top CIOs and technology leaders along with tips to create success in your specific environment. November 29, 2016.
  • Attended an all-day training session to learn how to use Docsoft, a device to create captions for videos. Captioning is essential for individuals with hearing impairments who may need to view a video and are also required for media posted to Grand Valley’s website. Captioning video is part of meeting Federal legislation and guidelines, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Section 504 is a federal law designed to protect rights of individuals with disabilities in programs and activities that receive Federal financial assistance from the U.S. Department of Education. This includes public school districts and institutions of higher education, June 29th, 2016.
  • Member “Hybrid & Online Teaching Learning Communities.”  Formally was the “Online and Hybrid Quality Matters Teaching Circle.” Purpose is to support new and experienced online/hybrid faculty, explore best practices, identify emerging technology needs, and share collective expertise. The group meets monthly. 2015 - 2017.
